| 19Then a scribe came up and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.” 20Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” 21Then another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 22But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.” | 57As they were going along the road, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go, Lord.” 58Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” 59Then Jesus said to another man, “Follow me.” But the man said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead. But you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” 61Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.” 62But Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” |
