| 38As Jesus and his disciples went along, he entered a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39She had a sister named Mary, who sat at Jesus' feet and listened to what he was saying. 40But Martha was distracted by the many preparations that had to be made. So she came up to Jesus and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to make all the preparations alone? Tell her then to assist me.” 41But Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, and it will not be taken away from her.” |
