Matthew 2:13-18
13After they were gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod is about to seek the child, to destroy him.” 14So Joseph rose, took the child and his mother by night, and departed for Egypt, 15where he stayed until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.” 16When Herod saw that he had been fooled by the wise men, he was greatly enraged and sent men to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and in its vicinity who were two years old and under, according to the time that he had ascertained from the wise men. 17Then what had been spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled: 18“A voice was heard in Ramah,wailing, weeping, and great lamentation,Rachel weeping for her children,and she would not be comforted, because they are no more.”
