Ministry to a believing Greek woman in Tyre and Sidon

The Vicinity of Tyre and Sidon

Matthew 15:21-28Mark 7:24-30
21Then Jesus went away from there and withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon. 22And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came and cried out to him, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” 23But he did not respond to her at all. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she is crying out after us.” 24In response Jesus said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” 25But she came and bowed down before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” 24Then Jesus rose from there and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. He went into a house and did not want anyone to know it, yet he could not escape notice. 25For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard about him and came and fell at his feet. 26(This woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth.) She asked Jesus to cast the demon out of her daughter.
26He replied, “It is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” 27She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the table of their masters.” 28Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith0x3B it will be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour. 27But Jesus said to her, “Let the children first be filled, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” 28She answered him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.” 29Then he said to her, “Because of this reply, you may go0x3B the demon has come out of your daughter.” 30And when she went to her house, she found the demon gone and her daughter lying in bed.
