1On that day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the sea, 2and large crowds gathered around him. So he got into the boat and sat down, while the entire crowd stood on the shore. 3aThen he told them many things in parables, saying,
1Once again Jesus began to teach by the sea, and a large crowd was gathered around him. So he got into the boat and sat in it on the sea, while the entire crowd was beside the sea on the shore. 2Then he taught them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them,
4As a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he spoke by way of a parable:
